| Hand Painted Tiles These are hand-painted tiles some of them are designed to look like real stone, others just have some wild colors to show different styles that can be achieved. They are painted with acrylic stains, which penetrate the concrete for a lasting color effect. They are then coated with clear sealants. |

| What is Cultured Stone and what is it used for? Cultured stone is molded concrete. It is colored using several different techniques. The most common technique is to dye the concrete with colorants during mixing. This gives you a uniformed color all through the stone. Cultured stone is made to have the look and feel of real stone, however because it can be dyed, stained or painted it can be made in just about any color. There are two basic types of cement that are used, grey portland cement and white portland cement, gypsum cements may also be used on occasion. Cultured stone can meet almost any application need, floors and walls being the most common. They can also be used in driveways, around pools, as decorative art and just about anything else a person can think of. They add a lot of style to a home and normally cost less than real stone or ceramic tiles. They are low maintenance and have long lasting durability. | If you are worried that when your mason cuts into the stone you'll find grey concrete under the color, don't be. We hand color and pour each stone. Here's an example of a stone we broke open to show customers that the embedded and marble colors go all the way through. Just click on the image for a larger view. Note: If you ordered an acrylic stain or artistic stone the colors will not go all the way through the stone. |
